No more Windows Live Messenger since March 15th

We had already let you know about Microsoft’s intent to “kill” Windows Live Messenger and integrate this service in Skype. The company now notified us that the service will only be operational until March 15th 2013, as it is scheduled for cancelation everywhere, except China. They also prompt all users to move on to Skype, which further enhances videocalls and instant messaging.

This means that 100 million users will have to be convinced to create a Skype account within the next few months. Those of you who do so, are advised to create an account for using Microsoft’s services, so there is no confusion between the two. This is something you have to do anyway, if you move on to Windows 8.
