iPhone 5S scheduled for mass production in July and new iPad models expected in October

The rumor mill has started turning about the next generation of the iPad and the iPhone, and of course it is not likely to slow down until these new devices are actually presented. According to a report by iLounge, mass production for the iPhone 5S is expected to start in July.

Usually, production of a new model starts a few months before it’s announced, so Apple can stock up their warehouses for the day after the announcement. In the same report, we read that the company prepares to renew the iPad series in October. The iPad Mini, codenamed J84, will be upgraded with a Retina Display.

On the other hand, the 5th generation iPad, codenamed J72, is rumored to adopt the iPad Mini’s shape. However, others insist that the shape will not significantly change, compared to the 4th generation model.

As for the iPhone 5S, it is expected to integrate a faster CPU, as well as a camera with a 13-megapixel sensor, manufactured by Sony, and will also feature an improved LED flash. The versions of the new iPhone 5S are codenamed N51 and N53.

The iPhone 5S is also expected to integrate a fingerprint reader, based on Authentec’s technology, acquired by Apple last summer.
