MWC 2013: What to expect from the greatest mobile event of the year

The Mobile World Congress (MWC 2013), held this year in Barcelona, is arguably the world's leading event in the mobile field, and everything around mobiles. The fact is that the event's prestige has reduced, as more and more large companies dont wait for the MWC to present their devices, but they organize their own event, something that we will discuss below. So, what can we expect from this major report? Digitallife will attend with George Iosifidis and Peter Kipouropoulos reporting back every single detail.

Basically, we can expect very little that we have not already heard. Most companies (we will see in detail), either already presented or have already announced their devices. What we will have the opportunity to do, is for George and Peter to hold hold the devices that we have not yet seen and make a detailed hands on.

No, it will not announce the Galaxy S IV in Barcelona, and we know that from last year, when they announced the Galaxy S III in a separate event in May. Furthermore, remember that it has probably locked the date on March 14. What would be interesting and will probably make its appearance at the booth of Samsung, will be the Galaxy Note 8.0 of 8 inches, like last year, they presented the Galaxy Note 10.1.

What do you want to hear about HTC; The HTC One was presented in two parallel events in New York and London and everything else just has to do with the corporate identity of the Taiwanese. Of course, the announcement of the HTC One had to become an exclusive and unique event because HTC is the big market share now and feel that they must share the publicity with other manufacturers, especially in the presentation of leading devices.

LG has already announced the availability of G Pro about which we expect to see a tremendous interest in the F5 and F7, the LTE mid-level devices of the Koreans, but also about the Series II team Optimus L. Do we want to see something else? No. We will just have the chance to get them in our hands and bring you our impressions.

Do we have anything new from Sony to see from Sony? Given the fact that we have already tried the Xperia Z, the only thing that we'll probably show you from Sony's booth is all the Xperia the devices together and, if one of the executives has a good sense of humor, maybe some of the regional of the PS4 which was announced a few days ago but has not been shown by the Japanese company. But then, something tells us that we should expect more revelations from Sony ...

Although Microsoft keeps silent about its presence at MWC, Nokia is doing the same, but if you remember its last year's presence in Barcelona, it involved the visual bomb Nokia Pure View 808, the 41 MP device. We already know that Nokia is interested in launching a massive photographic phone running Windows Phone 8; that we may see the Lumia 922, as there are many speculations about a tablet (finally) made by Nokia, with Windows 8. Will it surprise us on Monday mornig and present it to us? We do not know. We only know that George and Peter will be there.

What do we want to see from the Chinese? Oh, do not think only about Grand Memo, the giant 5.7-inch that wants to put the Galaxy Note and the Nubia out of the way. Yes, we want to see it too, but also what we love to see, is the Firefox Phone from ZTE. We love open software, why should we hide it?

The Chinese company that is definately in the list of the top smartphone manufacturers in the world of course will have the Ascend D2 on the top of their list. It will be fun for George an Peter to see the Ascend Mate of 6.1 inches, but also the rumored, successor to the Ascend P1 with 8-core processor.

In Conclusion

We should inform you that Google won't attend the event so we'll not see incredible photos with thousands Android phones this year. However we expect great news from Asus, clever ideas from ShowStoppers with aplications and weird gadgets and we also expect that George and Peter will take some photos with the famous Booth Babes that always make these kind of events more...interesting!
