Youtube: Paid subscription channels are coming

There were rumors about the arrival of channels on YouTube, which will be accessible to users with a monthly subscription ranging from 1 to 5 dollars. These rumors seem to be confirmed by a certain code found in the upgrade for the YouTube application for Android and which is:

< string name=»paid_channel_subscribe_message»>You can only subscribe to this paid channel on your computer.< /string>
< string name=»paid_channel_unsubscribe_message»>You can only unsubscribe from this paid channel on your computer.< /string>

After such notice, it is reasonable for users to be divided. They are divided into ordinary users and creators. Simple users, unlike the video authors, don't seem to appreciate the coming changes.

As for ordinary users, ie the subscribers of a channel, they claim that YouTube has to remain free. Reading differnet opinions on the internet about the news, many said they would leave YouTube for an other similar service such as DailyMotion and Vimeo. Of course we would like to hear your opinion.

On the other hand, most video authors correctly state that a well made YouTube video takes time, effort and often some small or large expenses. Nobody says no to extra income, which may even be an incentive for better videos may as well attract more people to the creative part.

There's a possibility that Youtube will present the pay-to-view channels with the coming of the new channels appearance. In any way, this move seems to contain some risk in terms of YouTube. Let's wait to see the final result.
