WSJ: Apple is preparing the new iPhone for Q2 launch

Well the Wall Street Journal seems to be quite sure, so I'm not gonna hesitate with this post. According to this report, Apple is already ramping up the production of the new iPhone this quarter, ahead of a likely summer launch. The report states that:

Apple Inc. AAPL +0.27% plans to begin production of a new iPhone similar in size and shape to its current one in the second quarter of the year, according to people familiar with the device’s production, teeing up a possible summer launch for the next version of its flagship device.”

If all the rumors are correct, Apple’s next idevice will be called iPhone 5S. The same rumors insist that it will look similar to its predecessor but feature a faster processor (hence the S), an improved camera (13MPixels?) and possibly a fingerprint scanner.

It’s also believed that a budget model is coming, made entirely out of plastic and metal and that will be available at a retail price of $300, aimed especially at some really difficult markets for Apple, like China and India.
