Samsung unveils Galaxy Mega 5.8 and 6.3 phablets with impressive specs

As we informed you the past few days, Samsung just announced its two first Galaxy Mega phablets, the first devices to use the Mega brand-name in 2013. Have a look at their official specs:

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3

The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 is a fairly slim device, measuring 167.6 x 88 x 8.0 mm and weighing 199g. It has a 6.3 LCD display with 720 pixels resolution, and is powered by an Exynos 5250 quad-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz. It also offers 1.5GB of RAM, holds a 3.200 mAh battery and has an internal storage of 8/16GB along with a microSD card slot. The huge Korean phablet runs Android 4.2 with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, along with well known features such as Air View (detecting your finger even if you're not touching the screen) and Multi-Window (that we know from Note II).

Unfortunately the Mega 6.3 doesn't have an S-Pen for all your... business needs. It features though an 8.0 MPixel camera in the front side and another 1.9MP secondary camera for video-calls. Last but not least, the device offers LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, NFC support and uses an IR emitter in order to work as a remote control.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8

The... smaller Mega phablet packs a 5.8 LCD display (5.8 inches) with qHD resolution, while measuring 162.6 x 82.4 x 9.0 mm and weighing 182g! It has a 2.600 mAh battery, but its quad core processor is clocked at just 1.4GHz. Obviously the device offers high speed connectivity (LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac) as well as NFC and IR emitter support.

Both "Galaxy Mega" phablets will be available worldwide starting from Europe and Russia in May. Unfortunately there's no pricing info yet.
