Visit Tokyo for 2 Gbps home internet

Disclaimer: don't read this post, if you're an internet speed addict and feel ridiculous with the speeds of european providers.

It looks as though So-net Entertainment (a Sony-backed Japan ISP) has just launched a fiber-based Internet Service that offers speeds of 2 Gbps downlink, making it the fastest home internet in the world. This home internet service is called Nuro and is available to small homes and businesses in Tokyo and close by prefectures offering 2 Gbps downlink and a mere 1Gbps uplink which is more than any of us has even dreamed of.

Nuro service costs approximately $51 on a 2 year contract (!) plus a one time ($535) installation fee.
