Qualcomm unveils its quad core Snapdragon 400 SoC

Qualcomm announced today the quad-core version of its Snapdragon SoC, with 4 Cortex-A7 cores @ 1.2GHz and full LTE support. The chip set is fully compatible with Android and Windows Phone 8 operating systems, meaning that Microsoft's smartphones will finally catchup their Android counterparts in terms of processor speeds.


The chip set offers WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and 42Mbps HSPA+, TD-SCDMA, Bluetooth compatibility, along with NFC and FM Radio. The new Snapdragon 400 SoC will be the mid-range product of the company, just below the Snapdragon 600 and 800 SoCs.
