Independence Day 2: No Will Smith, but with Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum

Will Smith is too expensive? No problem, we'll use another actor in his place. That's what Roland Emmerich said during an interview he gave last week, mentioning that Will Smith's salary is too huge to let him return for Independence Day 2, that is expected to hit cinemas on the 3rd of July 2015, along with Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum who will remain in their roles!

According to Emmerich's interview to the New York Daily News half the cast of the first film will return for the sequel and the other half will be replaced with other actors and one of the characters will be gay, since Emmerich himself is also gay. The well known director will work also on a smaller budget movie regarding the New York Stonewall Riots in 1969. At these riots, the police had invaded Stonewall Inn, an East Village gay bar, something that caused riots all over the US.

As far as it concerns Independence 2, Pullman will play one more time the role of the US President (only this time he will be the former president) and Goldblum will take on his role as the hi-tech scientist, David Levinson.
