Snowpiercer: trains, ice and sci-fi thriller

In case the name Bong Joon-ho doesn't say much to you, I bet the 2006 film "The Host", must indeed mean something to you. It was an impressive thriller no of which has ever been released in cinemas and it's highly unlikely that we will see something like it again. So the director of this film is the one who has undertaken another similar project named Snowpiercer.

The film is based on the French graphic novel «Le Transperceneige» which is set in the future where people's efforts to stop global warming will lead to an unsuccessful experiment. So unsuccesful that it will lead to a new Ice Age that kills everything on the face of Earth, except for those aboard Snowpiercer a train that moves without stop around the Earth. On the train life is divided: on the front wagons live the priviledged ones and on the back the little people with no meaning. Revolution though is at hand...

The film cast includes Chris Evans, Song Kangho, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Ewen Brewmner, Alison Pill, John Hurt and Ed Harris but we still don't know when it will be released in US theaters.
