"12 Years a Slave" ready to win all the Oscar Awards!

The first trailer of the next production of the director Steve McQueen (Shame, Hunger), was released a few days ago on the internet and many people have already begun to talk about a movie-phenomenon. The film tells the tragic true story of Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a free black man who lived peacefully in northern New York, until one day someone kidnaps him and sells him as a slave. Faced with the cruelty and the barbarism of his boss, Edwin Epps (Michael Fassbender), Northup has to give a fight to remain alive and maintain his dignity.

It's important to note that the scenario is based on an autobiography, written by Northup. By seeing the trailer, we can understand why they think positively about the production, while many people think that the film will have many Oscar Award nominations. The cast also includes many well-known names, such as Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock), Paul Giamatti (The illusionist), Paul Dano (Little Miss Sunshine) and Brad Pitt (Fight Club). The movie was originally scheduled to be released on December 26, but the date was transferred on October 18, most likely to be close to the Oscar Award's ceremony.
