HBO: We know that you "download" the Game of Thrones and it's OK

The only thing left to be said by the HBO channel is that they are grateful for all the "pirates" out there! In a recent statement by Jeff Bewkes, CEO of Time Warner - owner of HBO - said that he is aware of the crazy number of the downloads for the Game of Thrones, but this does not bother him at all.

Bewkes also said that this is a terrible reality that is spread from mouth to mouth and strengthens even more the prestige of the channel. The HBO channel is getting bigger with new subscribers, who gain from the "word of mouth" advertising. The channel is aware of cases, where many people stole the signal from the aerials of their neighbors to watch the HBO's series during the last 20-30 years. This is happening again in the form of "piracy", a phenomenon which leads to even better market penetration, more subscribers and less need to pay for advertising. And for this is responsible the Pirate Bay and other similar websites! He did not say the last one, but he implied it... What he said was that if the Game of Thrones is the most illegally downloaded show in the world, it's seems better from winning an Emmy Award. (Source:
