"The Hobbit" Trilogy has already exceeded the cost of The Lord of The Rings!

According to The Associated Press, "The Hobbit" trilogy has cost a lot of money. Too much! The cost has already reached 561$ million - that is twice the cost of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy- and wait, that's the cost until 31 March 2013, without having taken into account two more months of shooting since then!

The main reason for all of the above, is Peter Jackson's decision to shoot the movie with 48fps and 3D cameras, something that Jackson and James Cameron prefer to use these days. We have to say that every LOTR movie had a budget below 94$ million - with The Return of The King being the most profitable, since it had over ten times its budget! This means that the 1,017,003,568$ of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is not that impressive, since the movie cost almost 300$ million!

All of the above mean that the whole "The Hobbit" trilogy (that is The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (December 2013) and There and Back Again (December 2014) that remain to hit cinemas, must do... their magic if they want to be more profitable than the LOTR trilogy!
