Meet iPad Air, thinner, lighter than ever

Apple unveiled yesterday its 5th gen iPad, called iPad Air. The device is thinner and lighter than its predecessor with smaller bezel but the same screen size at 9.7 inches and a 2048x1526pixels resolution. Apple notes that the new iPad Air is 20% thinner than iPad 4th gen with a mere 7.5 mm thickness and 28% lighter while having a 43% more narrow bezel.

The new iPad Air packs the 64bit A7 processor and the M7 co-processor we met in iPhone 5S. It also packs a 5.0 MPixels iSight camera with 1080p video recording, a new FaceTime HD camera, double microphone, faster Wi-Fi thanks to MIMO support and a battery time of 10 hours continuous use. Unfortunately no, it doesn't feature a Touch ID sensor like iPhone 5S. The device will be available in Silver-White and Grey - Black colors with a starting price of 499$ (16GB/WiFi) in the US. iPad 2 will continue to be available from Apple at a price of 399$!

The new iPad Air will be available the 1st of November in all European countries!
