We will soon see PCs equipped with DDR4 RAM memory in 2013!

Well it looks like DDR4 RAM memory chips are not as far away as most of us had imagined. Micro Technology insists that soon its DDR4 Crucial memory chipsets will be available in the market by the end of 2013!


These new memory chips offer 2133 MHz bandwidth speeds doubling the previous speed (1000MHz) of the DDR3 memory chips. In addition they are 20% less energy consuming at only 1.2Volts. They have also double density per module meaning that they can fit more GBytes per memory module, since every single RAM module in DDR4 memory chips can reach up to 16GB! Obviously these new memory chips will have support for a different architecture so we're gonna need a new, upgraded motherboard as you can see in the infographic below.
