Play to Cure: Genes in Space is a game against cancer

Play to Cure: Genes in Space is a game for iOs and Android that differs from the other games in App Store and Android Market. It is created by Cancer Research UK, the institute that is active in research and prevention of cancer in United Kingdom, so Play to Cure: Genes in Space is an smart crowdsourcing.

You can play by being a pilot who flies in space and collects a substance known as Alpha Element, which is particularly important for manufacturing medicines and other things. Your ship gets updates and you wander around shooting Asteroids using the touch screen and the gyroscope of your device. The Asteroids are in fact real sets of DNA data, so by wandering in space, you use DNA to make maps on behalf of the scientists at Cancer Research UK: more players, more data to which they have access! In order to minimize the wrong mapping, each data set is "played" by several players.

The Play to Cure: Genes in Space is available, free of charge for iOS and Android.
