This is the Photo of the Year 2014

According to World Press Photo, the Photo of the Year 2014 has been taken using a Canon EOS 5D Mark III camera, from the hands of the US photographer John Stanmeyer for National Geographic.

It was taken on the night of the 26th of February 2013  by the seaside of Djibuti showing young Africans while they try to get signal from Somalia in order to get in touch with their loved ones! And this is the only way to talk to them in order to learn how they are doing or how are things there in the country (Somalia) they wish to go to.

Djibouti is a small country on the north east side of the African continent, close to Ethiopia and Somalia, and it is well known as the pit stop of all those Africans who wish to move to other countries of the world in order to search for better living conditions. All those immigrants who want to cross to Somalia know that the cheapest way to send SMS to their loved ones is the use of a Somali network provider and not the main Djibouti Telecom provider.
