You will soon be able to make calls via WhatsApp! (MWC 2014)

Currently, WhatsApp allows users to send text and voice messages via Internet, but not voice calls, something which is expected to change soon.

With today's statements by Jan Koum, co-founder and CEO of WhatsApp, at MWC 2014 in Barcelona, the popular application is expected to acquire voice call mode into the second quarter of 2014, first in Android and iOS and then on some Nokia and BlackBerry devices. The previous announcement comes at an important day for WhatsApp, just 5 years after the company was created. Happy Birthday WhatsApp!

We do not forget its great takeover from Facebook, which was announced just 4 days ago. In fact, during the previous days, WhatsApp managed to win 15 million new users, reaching in total 465 million users, of which 330 million are active every day. With the much anticipated voice call mode, WhatsApp will be able to compete with applications such as Viber and KakaoTalk, leading to win more users, aiming always to simplicity.
