Steamboy. A new and very promising portable console with Steam OS!

Valve may have not released yet the Steam Machines, that as they say, they would change forever the face of PC gaming, but a number of independent constractors have already begun to create their own ambitious hardware proposals, which will be based on Steam OS!


One of these is the highly original Steamboy, the first portable Steam Machine. This portable console is designed to allow the player to access Steam wherever he is. In accordance with a short teaser video which was aired shortly before the end of E3 2014, Steamboy looks like something between PSP and Xbox 360 controller (with the XABY buttons), while features the dual touch pads of Steam Controller. As regards to the hardware, a manager of Steamboy said that the portable device has a quad-core processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB of storage and a 16:9 display of 5 inches. Also, Steamboy would be linked with Wi-Fi and 3G and will support the vast majority of Steam games.

Steamboy is scheduled to be released in 2015 and it is certainly very interesting to keep watching it, as well as may some of its specs or design is going to change. Nevertheless, it is an interesting proposal that we should look at a long-term. Watch the teaser trailer to get a taste ...
