Lenovo introduces 5-inch A536 smartphone with KitKat

Chinese smartphone maker Lenovo on Tuesday unveiled a new budget Android smartphone for the Indian market. Part of the company’s A-series, the new A536 smartphone is being targeted to the Asus Zenfone 5, Xiaomi Redmi 1S and other similarly-priced handsets in the country.


The new Lenovo A536 goes on sale today at authorised stores as well as the company’s TheDoStore online for INR 8,999 and will be available in Black and White colour options.

The phone sports a 5-inch FWVGA display and is powered by 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor. It also comes with Android 4.4.2, 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front shooter and 2000 mAh battery. In addition, Lenovo has included 1GB of RAM, 8GB of on-board storage, microSD card slot, 3G and the usual set of connectivity options in A536.

On the software side, the smartphone will be pre-loaded with Lenovo’s Doit apps suite.
