Your next password will be your own heartbeat

What would you say to a computer, smartphone or tablet that could perceive your presence not through a password, but rather recognizing your heartbeat pattern, just by touching the device with your fingers.

Despite the use of ease, imagine how hard it would be this way for someone to hack your account or use your favorite device without your consent.

Foteini Agrafioti, an engineer at the university of Toronto (and obviously of Greek descent) says about this technology, developed by Bionym: “ECG biometrics identifies people by their cardiac rhythm. Not just their heart rate, but the actual shape of their heartbeat” (which is unique to any one of us).

It sounds interesting, and we would definitely like to see an improvement like this on devices we use every day, wouldn’t you agree?
