The Cohen brothers are working on Fargo for the TV

Famous brothers Ethan Cohen and Joel Cohen have been preparing for some time the TV adaptation of Fargo, one of the most special movies in their filmography, that marked their style and of course won them an academy award for its innovative story.

The other award was received by unique Frances MacDormand, who was excellent in playing the memorable pregnant sheriff Marge Gunderson. She worked on the case of a local car dealer (William H. Macy) who hired two incredible guys (Steve Buscemi and Peter Stormare) to kidnap his wife and set up a fake ransom scenario.

So, the 1996 movie will be adapted to one-hour TV episodes, and they are still on the lookout for the bold woman who will play the part MacDormand did. In 2003 there has been another attempt to turn the movie into a series, with Edie Falco (The Sopranos) in the leading part. However, this attempt never got past the pilot episode. We hope this is not an indication that the Cohen brothers are all “dried out”.
