iFixit “bares down” the new 21.5-inch iMac and finds glue. Lots of glue.

There’s no way a 21.5-inch iMac is released, by 80% thinner than the previous model, and iFixit’s “cannibals” would not come to tear it apart. Always methodically of course, and with surgical precision.

You can watch the new iMac disassembled step by step in the exceptionally detailed post by iFixit, here. Pay attention however, to what they also noted. The new iMac has a lot of glue.

Even in the screen, which in the past was held to the frame by magnets. In the speakers as well. iFixit technicians had to use their thermal gun a lot of times in order to detach several components from the inside of the iMac.

Besides the glue however, it’s an interesting find that this computer is cooled by one unique system. Also, the inside of this desktop PC is an example of ergonomics and design. Enjoy.
